Research Project Manager
The Colorectal Cancer Alliance is the nation's leading nonprofit dedicated to colorectal cancer. Together with a nation of passionate allies, we advocate for prevention, magnify support, and accelerate research to end this disease. Inequities in colorectal cancer screening, diagnosis, and treatment among the most vulnerable communities continue to persist. Our programs are designed to put health equity first. We are working towards the ambitious vision of ending colorectal cancer in our lifetime. We plan to achieve this vision by:
- investing and influencing $500 million in research while helping to drive the annual overall nationwide investment for colorectal research to $600 million annually by 2028.
- building and serving the world’s largest community and data set of colorectal patients to raise the five-year survival of mCRC from 13% to 35%.
- leveraging screening and prevention efforts to raise the screening rate to 80% and save 100,000 lives.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Research Project Manager is a new role with the Alliance and plays a critical role of supporting the Senior Director of Research and Medical Affairs in our Cure pillar. This role will be the representative of the Alliance as the communication connector with the Medical Professionals, Researchers, Major Donors, Alliance Executive Staff and Board of Directors. They will also be the role focused on all data, reporting, grants processes, and progress in the Cure Pillar of the Alliance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Utilize Proposal Central to review grants submitted, organize grant materials, and provide timely updates to stakeholders.
- Create and utilize a tracking system for grants, projects, communication, and reports.
- Create and run reports for internal and external stakeholders demonstrating a strong skill set in navigating through research data and platforms.
- Take the lead on all scheduling of meetings, events, and projects for internal teams, medical professionals, and external vendors.
- Support Alliance leaders in navigating through all technology platforms and data, providing analysis and possible outcomes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Science or related degree
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills with stakeholders.
- Show initiation on supporting all tasks needed for new and ongoing projects, ability to balance short term and long-term projects at the same time.
- Demonstrate confidence and interpersonal savvy in-person and verbal and written communication with Medical Professionals, Researchers, Major Donors, Executive Staff and Board of Directors.
- Maintains openness and consistently seeks out feedback.
- Demonstrate curiosity in colorectal cancer research and passion for being a part of this significant work.
