LEAD FROM BEHIND, the colorectal cancer awareness initiative that kicked off with a video from Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, has been nominated in the Webby and Shorty awards contests.
The Alliance-powered initiative has already ignited buzz, tallying more than 3.3 billion media impressions and increasing colonoscopy appointments made on Zocdoc. LEAD FROM BEHIND seeks to make colon cancer known everywhere as “The Preventable Cancer.”
Webby Awards
The Webby Awards is an international award established in 1996 by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences and has become one of the most prestigious accolades in the digital world.
LEAD FROM BEHIND was nominated in two categories — Public Service and Activism Video and Public Service and Activism Social. To take this honor to the next level and join previous winners like Humans of New York, Zach Galifianakis, and NASA, we need your vote!

These moments that mattered reflect a growing, unified movement to save lives and drive the mission to end colorectal cancer forward with urgency.

Across nine cities nationwide, our community showed what’s possible when compassion, determination, and action meet on the pavement to #WalkLoud.

The Colorectal Cancer Alliance mourns the passing of Alison Kiehl Friedman, a tireless advocate, policy leader, board member, mom, wife, and beloved member of our community, whose impact will continue to shape our mission for years to come.
