Scott Wilson Elected To Board Of Directors
The Board of Directors of the Colorectal Cancer Alliance voted June 21 to appoint Scott Wilson to a three-year term, effective immediately. Wilson is a young-onset colorectal cancer survivor and business leader, most recently heading corporate affairs at Molson Coors Brewing Company.
Wilson’s election celebrates his involvement in and contributions to the Alliance. Wilson has been an integral part of the Blue Hope Bash Denver, the Denver Undy RunWalk, and the Never Too Young Advisory Board.
In addition, Wilson created the photo book “Through the Window–A Photographic Tale of Cancer Recovery,” a visual journey through Wilson’s triumph over cancer. Wilson donates all the proceeds from this project to the Alliance.
“We are fortunate that Scott has not only aligned himself with our mission, but continuously takes a more active role in our work to end this disease,” said Michael Sapienza, CEO of the Colorectal Cancer Alliance. “His incredible contributions thus far make me excited for what he can help us accomplish as a Board member.”
Wilson was diagnosed with stage IV (metastatic) colon cancer in August 2016 at age 48. Treatment included colon and liver surgeries and an aggressive 40-week chemotherapy program. He has been NED (no evidence of disease) for nearly two years.

“Scott Wilson is an experienced business leader with more than 20 years experience in brand building, communications, corporate social responsibility, and regulatory affairs, mostly with Molson Coors Brewing Company, where Wilson has held UK, European, and global leadership positions. Wilson is a committed colorectal cancer advocate and set up what is believed to be the first employer-led, blood-test based colorectal cancer screening of employees in partnership with Epigenomics. Scott works with the Alliance's Never Too Young Advisory Board and leads the colorectal cancer policy group in his home state of Colorado. He has donated all proceeds from his award-winning photography career to the Alliance. Scott and his wife have two children, Andrew and Alba.”
